Good morning, and welcome to clipboard, a weekly newsletter about doing your best. This week, I’m living vicariously through the people I follow on Instagram at Paris Fashion Week. Plus: cool stuff from the week that’s been, including 2 great collaborations that I can’t afford and good new music.

One of the interesting adjustments that comes from moving to the northern hemisphere is big things happening during waking hours. In New Zealand, you get very used to waking up to the news happening on opposite time zones, but since moving to London, I’ve been experiencing cultural moments in real time online.
This week really put that in perspective. Glastonbury is ongoing as I write this, and I was awake both when Lorde teased her surprise performance and when she did it, rather than having the time in between artificially compressed by Instagram stories.
More so than Glasto, however, my IG feed this week has been dominated by Paris Men’s Fashion Week, as all of the fashion types to whom I’m parasocially connected descended upon the city of light to look at people wearing various types of clothes.
As I reflected on what to write this week’s edition about, I was scrolling back through my camera roll and noted that I have been haphazardly screenshotting looks and tidbits from Paris all week. They don’t say anything about the vibe on the ground or the future of the industry, but they say plenty about what I find interesting when mindlessly scrolling in between emails. Here’s a sampling.
I really liked the parts of Jonathan Anderson’s Dior show that felt like his comment on how men should dress for real occasions in 2025 (cuffing the right hand trouser leg for your spontaneous Lime Bike journey? Excellent stuff). This look from Josh O’Connor, who is always high on my moodboard both for great hair and cool fits, is how I want to dress for the office forever. Also, are popped collars coming back?
Bode did their whole presentation in miniature, a reference to the miniatures made by designers post WW2, chronicled in a great episode of the Articles of Interest podcast. This look is one of my favourites, but I would love to have some of the dolls in my home too.
More private school goodness. #menswear is back, ties are back, dressing up is back! Source for this is Clayton from Sprezza but I was holding my finger down and missed it.
I want to wear all Evan Kinori when I’m a dad.
This one isn’t even from Paris, but I really like this layering and the chunky bracelets. It’s my 27th birthday next week and I think 27 might be the year I start regularly wearing ties again, as if this list of pictures hasn’t already told you that!

If you want more on the ground PFW content, as always, Magasin is my number one recommendation for a real sense of what’s going on beyond the big shows.
I haven’t done a full listen of Lorde’s new album Virgin yet, but I have listened to a bunch of interviews with her and read this reaction from The Spinoff. Can’t wait to dive in properly!
This week two really good collaborations were released, neither of which I could afford. Drake’s x New Balance is exactly how I want to dress in the UK: classic, practical, ready for a long walk at a moment’s notice. On the other hand, I’d probably never wear Our Legacy x Stussy’s Cali garage vibe clothes, but it looks so cool I might rework my personality for it.
We went to Bao in Soho for dinner on Friday, where we had gone twice before on our last trip to London in 2019. They’re doing 2015 prices until 10 July to celebrate 10 years in business, and if you can nab a table, I’d highly recommend it as a relatively affordable night out!
Very excited about the news that Denis Villeneuve is going to direct the next Bond, but a bit gutted that it means we might not get non-franchise work from him for a good while now.
Cool person racquet sport apparel brand Spence is popping up at Tracksmith on Chiltern Street next week to time with Wimbledon, and if you’re a tennis wannabe like me, you should get there to grab gear for your swing that looks actually cool and practical.
Planning to binge The Bear this week so stay tuned for takes on that!
That’s all for clipboard this week, thanks for reading! If you enjoy reading clipboard, I’d love it if you could share it with your friend on a Glastonbury hangover this coming week. It’s my birthday on Thursday, and if you’d like to send a happy birthday message or gift, hit me up via email! I’m going to be in Cote d’Azur next weekend so next Sunday’s issue may end up being cut back, or not exist at all, you’ll have to wait and see!
